Kapibara Social started in 2025 with a fairly simple idea.
Businesses and creators are producing more video than ever. Filming it has become easier. Editing it consistently is still a lot of work.
There are full-service agencies for businesses that want filming, strategy and social media management. There are freelancers for individual projects. But we felt there was room for something in between: a straightforward editing service for people who already create (or want to create) their own footage and need someone to take care of what happens next.
You film, we edit.
No new quote every time. No need to find someone whenever another video comes up. Just a regular editing service with clear costs, clear turnaround times and a team that gets to know how your content should look. That became Kapibara Social.

Kapibara Social is a UK-based business, with London as our main base. We work mostly remotely, occasionally work together in London, and spend plenty of time in Barcelona too.
Our main markets are English-, Spanish- and German-speaking, although the nature of the service means we work with clients from anywhere.
Why a subscription?
Regular content needs regular editing. And regular editing shouldn’t require a new quote every time.
That was the thinking behind the subscription model.
Before settling on it, we looked at different ways of making ongoing editing work: project pricing, editing hours, credit systems. In the end, a monthly service made the most sense because it removes a lot of the administration around the editing itself.
You know what you are paying. You know how to send us a project. And once one video is finished, we move on to the next.
It also gives you some flexibility. You might normally send us short videos for social media and then suddenly need a longer YouTube video, an interview or an internal company piece. This can all fit into the same editing relationship.
The idea is to make video production much easier to manage.
How we got here…
The first idea takes shape: a simpler way to outsource recurring video editing.
After exploring different pricing and delivery models, we decide to build the service around subscriptions and ongoing editing capacity.
Kapibara Social gets its name, identity and working model. We begin testing the process, selecting editors and working on early projects.
We start onboarding regular clients and developing the service into the model we use today.
Getting the style right
When a client joins us, we first spend some time understanding how they already communicate.
Sometimes there is a detailed brand kit. Sometimes there isn’t. In that case, we look at existing content, social channels and the website and work from what is already there.
We keep track of the decisions and preferences that matter, so the editing stays consistent from one project to the next. Every project is also reviewed before delivery, both against the original brief and for the small details that are easy to miss after spending hours inside an edit.
Editors joining our team are selected through portfolio reviews and test edits. We look not only at technical ability, but also at communication, attention to detail and how well someone can understand and follow a brief.
Achieving simplicity
We like clean cuts, natural pacing and editing that feels current without trying too hard to show off.
Good editing should help the subject come through.
For a property video, that might mean starting with the part of the home that immediately makes someone want to see more, building in reveals and giving the space enough time to breathe. If the transitions become more memorable than the property itself, the edit has probably gone too far.
The same applies to someone speaking to camera, a product, a destination or a story.
The editing matters. But it is rarely supposed to be the main character.
The people behind Kapibara Social
Kapibara Social was co-founded by Patxi and Marcel. We work alongside a team of editors and creatives, while staying closely involved ourselves in production, reviewing projects, quality control, operations and the way the service develops.

Patxi
Patxi works closely with production and the creative side of editing. He is usually looking at the overall feeling of a piece: how the pacing, images and sound work together, what emotion they create and whether the edit actually connects with the person watching it.

Marcel
Marcel works across operations, marketing and production and has a tendency to notice the small things: a cut that feels slightly off, an element that is not quite aligned or a typeface that could work better. He particularly likes the point where good creative work meets a good system.
Why Kapibara?
We didn’t particularly want a name that sounded like a traditional (and maybe old-fashioned) creative agency.
Capybaras are calm, social animals that seem capable of getting along with pretty much everyone. We liked that.
It fitted the kind of business we wanted to build: approachable, straightforward and pleasant to work with. Less hype, fewer complications.
The spelling Kapibara makes it unique and has another connection for us: it’s the Basque language spelling, which fitted naturally with the multilingual side of the business.
And there is a little of the animal in our logo too. The mark combines the idea of a video play button with a simple capybara shape and its small ear.
The dark background and green that run through the brand add the slightly cinematic feel we wanted without taking the whole thing too seriously.
